Home Wine Cellar of the Month (April): A transitional design in Briarcliff Manor, NY

/ / General
Briarcliff Manor NY Custom Wine Cellar

Transitional design is a mix of modern and traditional elements, and its a niche that is trending today. For good reason as the merging of elements allows limitless potential.

This compact Briarcliff Manor cellar is a great example. The darker hue of the wood and stone walls provide the traditional feel, while the lighter wood, granite countertop, and metal racks bring out the contemporary elements .

To achieve the look, this client installed three Floor-to-Ceiling Frames (using angled brackets to conform to the slanted ceiling). The selection of single-deep Wall Series metal racks is a nod to minimalism, and the client was able to increase the bottle capacity with wood X-bins and shelving.

The finishing touch that pulls it altogether: a glass door that opens the design of the cellar to the rest of the room.

The final result is a capacity of more than 100 bottles with a stylish bar area to serve the great vino inside.
